As the Los Angeles Dodgers gear up to compete against the New York Yankees for the championship title, Taylor Trammell, selected 35th overall in the 2016 MLB Draft, is assured of receiving a World Series ring no matter how the series concludes.
“Joining the Yankees, it kind of slipped my mind,” Trammell noted in an interview with The Athletic. “If the Dodgers win, I’ll also be eligible for a ring.”
Taylor Trammell, a prospect in the Yankees’ farm system, is destined to attain a championship regardless of the World Series outcome.
His situation is an extreme illustration of a trend seen nearly every season.

It’s important to mention that Trammell participated in 10 MLB games this season, evenly split between the Dodgers and Yankees.
In Major League Baseball, any player who contributes to a team, even if it’s just for a single at-bat (or two plate appearances for Trammell with the Yankees), qualifies for championship recognition.
Interestingly, Trammell started the year with the Seattle Mariners during spring training, but after not making the Opening Day roster, he was designated for assignment and subsequently picked up by the Dodgers.
He played in Los Angeles from April 5 to April 16, recording a 0-for-6 performance with three strikeouts. After being released, he was signed by the Yankees and achieved a 1-for-1 record in his limited time with them. Following May 3, he spent the rest of the season in the minor leagues.

Nonetheless, his contributions will not go unnoticed, as he played for both the National League and American League championship-winning teams.
This season, Trammell showcased his skills with the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, where he maintained a .256 batting average, hit 18 home runs, along with 63 RBIs, 65 runs scored, and stole 20 bases over 106 games.
