NBA Legend Magic Johnson Warns Western Conference Teams About THIS Playoff-Ready Team
The 2023-24 NBA season commenced on October 22, with all teams having played at least one game, while the Boston Celtics have already played two. Several franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks, made noteworthy trades in the offseason to bolster their rosters. Recently, five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson sounded an alert regarding a powerful super team in the Western Conference.
Many Eastern Conference teams secured NBA all-stars to boost their championship ambitions. Significant moves included the 76ers signing Paul George and the Knicks acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns. In the West, the Denver Nuggets added Russell Westbrook, and DeMar DeRozan joined the Sacramento Kings.
Among the most unexpected trades this summer was Klay Thompson’s departure from the Golden State Warriors, where he had spent his entire career, to join the Dallas Mavericks. Teaming up with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the four-time champion has contributed to the formation of a superteam in Dallas. After the Mavericks’ initial victory of the season, Johnson took to X to draw attention to the Mavs’ potential.
Johnson claimed that Western Conference teams “should be concerned” about the “playoff-ready” Mavericks. “Every team in the West should be worried about Dallas this season because the Mavs are built for the Playoffs,” he remarked.
Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson Shine in Dallas Mavericks’ Victory
The Dallas Mavericks kicked off their 2024-25 NBA season on Thursday with a win over Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs, ending the game at 120-109. Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson made a considerable impact, combining for 50 points. Doncic recorded impressive numbers with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Thompson hit six three-pointers in his debut.
The Mavericks are set to face off against the Phoenix Suns next, promising an exciting matchup between Luka Doncic and Devin Booker this Saturday at the Footprint Center.
