Jeanie Buss, the owner of the LA Lakers, has been married to comedian Jay Mohr for the last couple of years. However, the couple has recently disclosed that they intentionally do not share a living space.
Technically, they reside in the same building but occupy different units, with Buss living on the third floor and Mohr on the first.
As Buss noted in an interview with Graham Bensinger, “We live together, we’re at the same address, but I’m unit #3 and he’s unit #1.” She also mentioned that a couple lives in between their units.
“We don’t really want to change anything,” Buss added. “Because I like my space and I have my schedule, and he likes his space and he has his schedule… But I can take the elevator down… and hang out, then go back up.”

Mohr mentioned that they see each other every morning, afternoon, and evening, but prefer their own space when it’s time to sleep because “guys are gross… and make sounds, and sweat.”
While it’s understandable that they value personal space and adhere to their own schedules, this arrangement seems unconventional for a marriage, prompting some fans to question: “Why even get married in the first place?”
A. That’s weird.

It’s worth noting that Jeanie Buss was previously married to volleyball player Steve Timmons from 1990 to 1993 and was in a long-term relationship with former 11-time NBA champion head coach Phil Jackson.
Buss and Mohr began their romantic relationship in 2017 and tied the knot in September 2023.
Happiness. Love. Joy.
That’s what you have given me on my birthday and every day in between. This picture, taken at our friend’s wedding in June, tells the story, our story.
I guess I really can have it all.
