Draymond Green is actively seeking to reconcile with former Golden State teammate Jordan Poole following their past conflicts.
Green: ‘I Really Am Sorry’
After the Washington Wizards fell to the Warriors 122-114 on Saturday night, Poole reflected on his time in San Francisco. He expressed fondness for his old team in postgame remarks, stating, “I love those guys over there,” before adding, “I love most of those guys over there.”
Fans on social media quickly interpreted Poole’s comments as jabs at Draymond Green after senior NBA columnist Marc J. Spears shared the remarks on X. Green seemingly shared the same sentiment, posting “I really am sorry” in response underneath the tweet.

Prior to the 2022-23 NBA season, Green had a confrontation with Poole during a training camp that ended with Poole receiving a blow to the face.
Green expressed regret over his actions during the incident, keeping his distance from his teammates throughout much of that season.
“I was so embarrassed to be around our team last year with [Jordan Poole] still on the [Warriors],” Green revealed.
“I felt so ashamed to show my face that I would time everything. I’d plan my arrivals to coincide exactly with when I had to be there. If it took extra time for the elevator, I’d end up being late.”
Draymond Has Done Some Personal Work Since Last Season
Green’s fiery demeanor had previously landed him in trouble well before the incident with Poole, and tensions did not ease afterwards. Following an altercation where he struck Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić during a game last season, the NBA mandated he undergo therapy as part of his indefinite suspension.
Despite initial doubts, Green ultimately valued the therapy sessions and recognized their positive impact on his mental well-being.
“These meetings became so therapeutic for me,” he told ESPN. “It’s helping me, and I f—-ing love it. My plan is to do these meetings for the rest of my career because they’re incredible.”
As of now, the 34-year-old has not encountered any issues with the league so far in the 2024-25 season.
